Syllabus

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will focus primarily on building a website using various web technologies. This course will utilize the skills you have,or are developing, with HTML, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, Flash, graphical design, and other appropriate technologies.

Students can either create, or expand, a website for a customer that they found on their own, or I will find a website project for them. Students will be able to work either alone or in groups. Students may either supply their own domain names and webhosting space, or I will supply it for them for the duration of the summer.

I will work with whatever skill you are currently at, whether it is basic (have only had the basic HTML course), or whether you are more advanced (have had the PHP/MySQL courses). Therefore everyone in the CST/MMDT department is welcome to register for the course. Course will be lecture and interactive lab based. Prerequisite: YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN CST/MMDT1021 HTML & THE WEB to be in this course.

COURSE EVALUATION
Based upon class attendance, participation, and website project outcome.

REQUIREMENTS
This course is lecture/lab based. The CST Staff will deliver the lectures, as well as supervise the lab. The student is expected to spend at least 48 hours per credit in self study with direction from instructors and/or instructional guides and testing.  This a three (3) credit course, so an average student is expected to spend approximately 144 hours completing this course, which includes lectures and lab. All lectures will be scheduled, with that schedule posted online.
